The Narrative Paradigm
What are the main principles/points of the narrative paradigm? In a nutshell, Narrative Paradigm says that people are naturally story tellers and that their lives were seen as "the" story. It looks at messages as narratives and these narratives were compelling for our attention. For a narrative to be compelling it is said to have:1) coherence where narrative must be presented in a sequence just like a story that follows a beginning, a middle and an end.2) Fidelity looks for the truthfulness of the story. For example, you will most likely to believe the person who narrates that he was bitten by a dog than a person who narrated that he bit a dog.
