The Narrative Paradigm

What are the main principles/points of the narrative paradigm?

In a nutshell, Narrative Paradigm says that people are naturally story tellers and that their lives were seen as "the" story. It looks at messages as narratives and these narratives were compelling for our attention. For a narrative to be compelling it is said to have:1) coherence where narrative must be presented in a sequence just like a story that follows a beginning, a middle and an end.2) Fidelity looks for the truthfulness of the story. For example, you will most likely to believe the person who narrates that he was bitten by a dog than a person who narrated that he bit a dog.

How is the Narrative Paradigm different from the Constructivism Paradigm?

In Contructivism, you tailor fit the message to achieve multiple goals. You try to create message and foresee the probable response of the person your are talking to. In constructivism, you are looking in your ideas and how it affects others. Narrative paradigm on the other hand talks about, you are trying to see how a person will accept your stories. It does not necessarily thinks about the response or the reaction of  your listener.

PHILIPPINES AT PRESENT

"Bigyan niyo ako ng tatlo-anim na buwan at susugpuin ko ang droga sa Pilipinas," "If the poor dies, it is their fault,"  and "Change is comming" are some of the quotable quotes from our beloved President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. These promises became the reason why many people voted for him. And true to his words, Change indeed has come. Death two blocks away, deaths at our doorsteps and even death inside our homes it is the aftermath of his so called The War on Drugs.

It's terrifying how our sense of security continue to decrease at each passing day. It is very saddening how the hopes of the Filipino people for an uplifting change became their judgement and cause of their deaths. How a once democratic country is on its way to state fascism? Many people already died and we are only in his first year. All we can say  is that the present Philippines will surely be better than the upcoming years. The administration will surely have more things to offer.Besides, we still have five more years.
